Together with 9 other industry associations, EUnited has co-signed a joint statement on empowering consumers in the green transition. This statement concerns the proposed amendments in the European Parliament and in the Council of the European Union.
This paper highlights the core values of the industry, such as the industry being in favour of consistency with the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) and substantiating green claims, as well as the industry’s objection to a fragmented EU single market and to the introduction of multiple and overlapping sustainability labels.
The paper also proposes a number of amendments to the Consumer Rights Directive and to the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive.
The full joint paper is available here.
