We're hiring - new position open at EUnited Brussels
EUnited is looking a new Membership and Communication Services Coordinator to join our team in the EUnited Brussels office.
Together with the Executive Director, the new colleague will be running the association’s activities in Brussels.
The coordination of membership services includes organising membership activities and relations for the association. It also entails the preparation and organisation of meetings and events, financial, administrative and operational tasks and managing commercial activities of the association.
Communication services are firstly focused on exchanges and discussions among members, sectors and association staff. Thus, an interest in the industry sectors represented by the association and in interest in regulatory and public affairs are a must. Finally, supporting external communication through the production of website news items, press statements and social media outreach along with organising events and meetings is an integral part of the responsibilities of the coordinator.
The Membership and Communication Services Coordinator will report to the Executive Director and will work in close cooperation with directors and staff in charge of the different sectors.
Responsibilities and tasks
- Support to the Executive Director in running the association, coordinating staff activities and managing the Brussels office;
- Membership engagement and retention – manage and update the membership database, oversee the customer service process to ensure members are satisfied and onboard new members;
- Content creation and communications outreach – write and publish content for the association’s website and social media accounts;
- Developing graphics and marketing material for social media posts, events and publications as part of the association’s marketing and communications strategy;
- Proofread and edit position papers, statements and news items for colleagues involved in the association’s technical and public policy work;
- Provide logistical and administrative support to the Management Board and to members of the General Assembly;
- Take charge of logistics and administration for meetings and events, including developing contacts amongst venue and event organisers in Brussels;
- Financial administration such as invoicing, payments, annual audit and general monitoring of and reporting on finances;
- Develop relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure efficient management of the association’s commercial activities and services.
Knowledge and Experience
- 2 - 3 years of relevant work experience in communications, administration and/or working in an association/membership organisation;
- Sound experience in engaging and connecting with people and a hands-on approach;
- Interest and/or experience in public affairs and in delivering communications and outreach campaigns;
- Experience in managing websites, CRM systems and social media profiles would be a plus;
- Experience in designing, producing and editing publications would be an asset;
- Good understanding of finance and administration and/or keen interest to learn the trade of running an industry association will be a plus.
Qualifications
- University degree or higher education;
- Fluency in English and good working knowledge of French;
- Knowledge of other languages spoken in Europe or Asia are an advantage;
- Service minded, patient and approachable attitude;
- Strong interpersonal skills and an excellent team worker;
- Highly organised and willing to take initiative;
- Ability to travel.
